For three years, Project Control worked continuously on the campus at Rice University in Houston, Texas. Project Control provided project management services on over 20 projects for the university campus including renovation of existing and construction of new athletic facilities, as well as various campus improvements. The collective project to date exceeds $160,000,000.
Renovation of the existing Tudor Fieldhouse and Autry Basketball Court, a 50 year old, 75,000 s.f. gymnasium space. Work included the addition of a club area, team store and concessions. Project called for demolition of an administrative building, followed by construction of the 27,500 s.f. Youngkin Center, housing athletic offices, as well as athlete support areas.
Construction of a 101,000 s.f. recreation center with indoor/outdoor basketball courts, recreation and competitive swimming pools, racquetball/squash courts, cardio & weight room, acupuncture and massage therapy rooms, and administration offices.
New construction of a 5,000 seat baseball stadium at Rice University. The project also called for installation of team batting cages on the site. Phase II included the installation of a new LED scoreboard.
Construction of the 14,200 s.f. utilities building with over 1,100 s.f. of underground tunnel, that provides utility capacity for the Rice campus and power for a nearby 10-story research center for the University.
